FOODTECH Confidential #001 is focusing on the trends in China and Asia around the coffee business talking about news, innovation, F&B concepts, investments,...
great sharing! I see the "Nighttime coffee" trend from Macau as a potential trend for Mainland too, specially in cities like Chengdu, Shenzhen or Xiamen.
I agree! Younger generations are going away from bars and alcohol but still looking for a way to socialize in groups, which is common in Asia. Any concept like this in those cities already ?
Thanks for the great feedback ! I will actually alternate I think depending on the news ! Any ideas of focus you’d like to see in future publications ?
This is pretty broad. It would be a lot easier to start from what could not be sold, such as some kind of cheese, salt, some seafood, like a certain kind of shrimps etc… but with the proper FDA support, and some patience, a lot of this product will be approved. A most critical question would be which products that are not yet in China would actually be interesting to Chinese consumers, and how much would it cost to a brand to stand out and gain market shares…

Yes, I saw few in Chengdu in December 2021: Sunset, Kurokii, UID Cafe Co., Mondoli, and many more
I like the fact that you focus on one subject only, we can really understand the trends in Asia but in other countries as well.

focus on one single topic is topnotch!
Thank you for the feedback ! I will work on this :)
Great! Serious but fun! One topic is also a good idea!
Great ! Thanks for the feedback Bertrand :)
Hi Greg, what about what imported food products could be sold in China?
